Yorkshire Food Finder
York, North Yorkshire
The White Rose county has an amazing larder and there’s no better way to discover it than with a Yorkshire food tour courtesy of Yorkshire Food Finder.
The company is run by gourmand-on-the-go Sue Nelson, who takes guests out on guided food trails to discover the best of Yorkshire’s artisan products.
Taste the best there is on offer – and then let Sue guide you on how to get the very best from your new purchases on one of her skills courses.
Or you can book a bespoke, pop-up supper in her superb kitchen/dining space – Sue can expertly tailor the menu exclusively for your group, and she only uses the best seasonally sourced artisan products in her mouthwatering meals.
The suppers are great get-togethers for families and friends celebrating a special occasion. She can also do business and Christmas dinners too, as well as cook intimate lunches and dinners at your home or venue of your choice.
Sue really champions artisan producers, finding out what makes the people behind the produce tick – and those people regularly feature with her on local BBC radio.
Sue’s background isn’t actually in food – she used to be a local newspaper journalist and then worked for the rail industry. But her love of food is what has always really driven her… check out her library if you don’t believe us. It contains an incredible collection of more than 1,400 cookery books.
Where she finds the time to read them is beyond us with everything else she has to do… but that passion really shows through in her work.
Sue’s husband Aidan is also a passionate foodie and helps devise the tours as well as working front-of-house on the bespoke dinners. He’s a home smoker (of food, of course) and a master of the cheeseboard.
